What to avoid on a day tour to India!


Finally you have decided in favor of travelling on a day tour to India. As you are about to visit a country of one billion people you will come across a diverse set of people and masses in one of the most diverse culture and traditionally rich country. The country known for some for its eastern wisdom has its own set of cultural norms different from western part of the world, so whenever, you are on a group tour or day tour to India you need to follow some cultural values and be better prepared for them when visiting India.

Though being the largest democracy of the world, people, here practice caution, especially, when discussing about religion with a stranger as religion is very sensitive area for Indian for their various religious beliefs.  Like religion people here too not like an open display of love, affection and romanticism as with prevailing conservatism any public outburst of love and affection. 

Like their attitude towards the love and affection Indians do also wear their clothes in a conservative manner, therefore, when you are on a travel to India on day tours or India group tours you do also wear conservative dress. Refrain from revealing and tight dress up especially in Rural India.  When meeting a woman a India it is better to avoid first handshake in India and be rather advised to joined palm in return of a female folk’s hand shake.     

Another import aspect of being a traveler to India is to remove shoes outside while entering someone’s home or a place of sanctity and religious importance.  In some temples in India people are even not allowed to enter into holy areas with their shirts wearing on. India is a right hand country and here people rarely use left hand for eating shaking or passing on gifts. Finally, as feet considered as an Inferior part of the body, you always must avoid touching any important thing with feet.   Though, touching a elder’s feet is known to be a sign of respect in India.  And the most important the boozing or smoking in public is not considered good in India.   These all tips are a suggestion for making your day tour to India a memorable experience.
